NaNoWriMo This Year?
2009 October 21

Hmmm… National Novel Writing Month is almost upon us, and I’m debating whether or not I should dive in again this year Last year I did about 60,000 words in 30 days. This year, I have a young adult novel in mind (think older Harry Potter age range) and would like to hammer out a draft, but I’m not sure if I’ll have the time with teaching, school, and painting…
What do you think? Should I go for it? Richard, Ran, Jen, Nathan, Angela, there’s a good change you guys could be in it… (teaser).

well DUH! I’m CTJen over on the NaNoWriMo site if you want to buddy up.
Popping in to say HELLO!
Have a great weekend.

I’ve often thought about doing the NaNoWriMo but I always have so many irons in the fire already. My writing friends have done it and had a great time. I think it’s a brilliant way to “puke” out that first draft. Maybe I’ll get inspired and throw my hat into the ring this year too!
Dawn–I usually do, too, but I managed to do it last year. I think even if we don’t reach the 50,000 word count, you have a lot of material down to work with. Like you said, a fabulous way to puke out a draft that can be worked and re-worked. Go for it!
