Class: Portrait Drawing
Beginning Portrait Drawing Class
Three Sessions
Thursday, January 30 – February 20, 2009 (class does not meet Feb. 6th).
6 – 8 pm
This fun, hands-on drawing course is designed for those who wish to learn how to draw realistic, accurate portraits of people.
Bring your favorite drawing pad and pencils and learn techniques for creating realistic facial features, mastering balance, using light & shadow, developing skin texture, defining hair, and more. We’ll even cover a variety of tricks to make drawing an accurate likeness easier than you ever thought possible.
We will draw from live models as well as photos, with discussion about the unique challenges.
It’s helpful to have some drawing experience for this course, as we will not be covering drawing basics–but it’s OK if you’ve never drawn people before, or have just graduated from stick figures.
The instructor will provide paper and pencils, but students are encouraged to bring their favorite materials if they already draw often.
